Major’s General Characteristic - Central Campus IUK

Major’s General Characteristic

In the context of a Market Economy and the current stage of development, a state’s strength is primarily determined by its economic potential, which significantly depends on the professionalism of its personnel.

The relevance and uniqueness of the “Economics” major for the ARPC “IUK” lies in the economic relations system modification, globalization, and integration, which encompasses many factors: the transition from subsistence farming to commodity production; the establishment of commodity-money relations aimed at maximizing profits; and the qualitative leap in the development of productive forces during the Industrial Revolution, which enabled the transition to mass production of goods beyond domestic national needs.

The profession of economist requires fundamental knowledge, skills, and practical abilities aimed at increasing economic growth, enabling the expansion of production scale and volume, investment in new scientific and technical developments, and human resources.

Today, the profession of economist is one of the most in-demand and promising professions in the world. Economists are needed in every company, from small businesses to multinational giants. Economists are versatile professionals who primarily work with numbers and large data sets.

The modern labor market shows that the most in-demand profession is that of manager. Society needs competent and creative managerial leaders capable to work  productively in a dynamic business environment.
