Artificial Intelligence Laboratory

The Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI Laboratory) was created to develop and implement fundamental and applied research in the field of intelligent computer systems based on artificial neural networks (ANNs).

AI Laboratory is a research and educational laboratory whose work provides the opportunity to explore one of the most exciting and promising areas of computer science – artificial intelligence.

Goals and Objectives of the Laboratory:

The primary goal of AI Laboratory is to integrate scientific research, educational, and innovative potential in the field of intelligent computer systems based on ANNs, through research and the implementation of comprehensive projects, including joint international projects and the dissemination of scientific knowledge.

The objectives of AI Laboratory include the development, testing, and practical implementation of methods and algorithms for intelligent decision-making on ill-formalized problems in various areas of human activity.

 The main objectives of the AI Lab are:

  • conducting fundamental and applied research, developing new methods and technologies for the creation of artificial neural networks;
  • conducting applied research to address current challenges in medical cybernetics;
  • providing a platform for the implementation of research projects and projects by students, inventors, developers, and creative young people;
  • organizing and conducting scientific, educational, and innovation-focused events;
  • participating in the implementation of international and national research programs;
  • attracting master’s and doctoral students to work at the AI Lab to conduct scientific research and implement new technologies and developments;
  • developing scientific and technical cooperation with national scientific, educational, technological, and industrial organizations and enterprises, including foreign ones, with the goal of jointly addressing technical, scientific, innovative, and educational challenges, and creating and mastering the latest technologies and innovative products;
  • providing scientific, technical, information, and consulting services;
  • participating in the implementation of research projects within the framework of programs and projects of state and non-state scientific foundations and organizations.

The laboratory operates on a project-based model, meaning each participant works on a separate project with a specific goal and deadline. This allows for a successful combination of theoretical and practical components, achieving maximum progress in knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The laboratory’s mentors are scientists for whom science is not only a passion but also a professional activity. They are actively practicing researchers conducting research projects in the field of artificial intelligence. All projects carried out by AI Lab students are linked to these “big” projects.

Student participation in AI Lab activities is a unique opportunity to improve their qualifications, gain new knowledge and skills, and participate in real-world research projects.

We work with students studying information technology at the International University of Kyrgyzstan consortium, as well as at all technical universities in Bishkek (the main requirement is the opportunity to interact in person with a mentor). Students at the universities where our mentors teach have the opportunity to count projects completed at AI Lab toward their coursework, internships, diplomas, etc.
