Space is, first and foremost, science, and our scientists have contributed to its exploration.
The work of a team of specialists led by Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Alimov resulted in a drilling rig used to collect soil from Earth’s satellite.
The Kyrgyz balm “Arashan” became the first alcoholic beverage in history to reach space. Pharmacologist and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Arstanbek Altymyshev, who created “Arashan,” was awarded the S. Korolev Medal for services to cosmonautics.
The work of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Murzabek Imanaliev is widely used in the space and military-technical industries.
The work of renowned Academician of the Kyrgyz National Academy of Sciences Asylbek Aidaraliev contributed to advances in aviation and space medicine. He played an active role in the pre-flight training of cosmonauts. Aidaraliev’s research findings were summarized in his doctoral dissertation, which he defended at the Institute of Space and Aviation Medicine in Moscow. For his achievements, he was elected an Academician of the International Academy of Cosmonautics.
At the end of 2016, young scientist Nurlan Usubaliev won a prize in a Roscosmos competition. His developments in the field of advanced space technology were among the best out of 100 submitted papers.
